Patients Rank Ochsner’s ACO No. 3 in Nation for Care Coordination

Congratulations and thank you to every clinician in the Ochsner Accountable Care Network for another outstanding year of results. In the 2024 Medicare Shared Savings Program report, OACN achieved $45 million in savings for the 60,000 patients we care for, contributing to the $2.4 billion saved nationwide among all ACOs. Since our launch in 2013, we’ve collectively saved $205 million while continuing to raise the bar for patient care and collaboration.
Published recently, Robert Hart, MD, Chairman of the Board for OACN, acknowledged the impressive clinician-led achievements:

OACN has been recognized for its top performance in both healthcare quality and cost savings in CMS’ 2024 report on ACOs in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP):
Ochsner ranked No. 3 out of 476 ACOs nationwide for care coordination, based on patient surveys. It also placed in the top 11% for overall quality, showing its dedication to providing excellent, well-organized care.
According to the latest CMS results, OACN ranked:
- #3 out of 476 ACOs nationwide for care coordination, based on patient surveys
- Top 11% overall for quality performance
- Top 5% for courteous and helpful office staff, based on patient surveys
- Top 10% for patients’ ratings of their providers
OACN also stood out in preventive and chronic care measures:
- Top 2% nationally for colorectal cancer screenings
- 94% of patients received breast cancer screenings: 14% above the national average
- Less than 6% of patients had uncontrolled diabetes: 36% better than average
- 99% of patients were screened for fall risks: top 4% nationally
- Top 9% for depression screening and follow-up care
OACN also reduced emergency room visits by 3% compared to 2023, demonstrating a focus on preventive care and managing chronic conditions.
