March and April 2025 Circle of Excellence Winners

Alicia Nicklas, NP

Alicia Nicklas, neurology nurse practitioner at Ochsner Lafayette General Neuroscience Center, has demonstrated dedication to improving performance, with a notable increase in BPA Interaction Rate from 14.46% to an impressive 67% in 2024! Additionally, she has achieved an Encounter Action Rate of 97.9% and OPA Interaction Rate of 97.2%. Her colleagues note that she continually demonstrates engagement and awareness, always meeting requests promptly and reliably.

Ryan Lee, MD

Ryan Lee, MD, senior physician at Ochsner Health Center-Metairie, takes an active role in his CDE meetings and frequently takes initiative to improve his documentation on patient encounters, evidenced by an Encounter Action Rate of 86.42% so far this year. Dr. Lee expresses a deep understanding of risk adjustment principles supporting favorable HCC capture rates while focused on continuously improving quality in his patient care delivery.

About the Circle of Excellence Award Program

Each month, one Circle of Excellence Award is given to a primary care physician, specialty physician, or advanced practice provider (APP). Nominated by their clinical documentation excellence (CDE) educator, award winners have embraced the clinical documentation excellence journey and help champion the importance of the program to their colleagues.

Along with recognition in this newsletter, winners also receive a Circle of Excellence lapel pin and an Ochsner Ovation for “Excellence”from leaders.
